Responsibilities for this hands- on position include overseeing and performing the preventative/corrective maintenance operations of the Orlando Science Center building systems including but not limited to HVAC systems, life safety systems and telecom systems.
Essential Functions

Responsible for training new facility maintenance personnel.

Performs daily facility inspections to identify immediate and long term deficiencies of the facility and its systems. Creates and delivers a corrective action plan to the Manager of Facilities.

Responsible Execution of the Preventative Maintenance plan for all related facility systems.

Prioritize corrective maintenance work orders as they arise in conjunction with managing and prioritizing preventative maintenance work orders.

Must be able to diagnose failures of various systems and be able to specify and source replacement parts from suppliers.

Must be able to troubleshoot and/or program HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and alarm systems. As well as telephone, elevator, automatic door and automatic gate systems.

Must have comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials and finishes such as carpet, drywall, paint, framing, doors, concrete, EIFS and various roof systems.

The Facilities Maintenance Tech III must be able to read blue prints

This position is responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance of OSC’s van fleet, including record keeping and maintenance logs.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years previous hands-on experience in all related fields outlined in the Essential Functions

Expected Hours of Work & Travel
This is an hourly position requiring a highly flexible individual. This position is “on call” in case of an emergency or alarm. The typical workweek is Monday thru Friday, 40 hours a week, but may change due to an emergency or unseen circumstance.
Travel:
Minimal travel is required for this position. Travel would include local trips to acquire parts or drop-off/pick-up a van for servicing.
Telecommuting
This position is required to be onsite 100% of the time.
