Lardner the Gardener, LLC is a full-service boutique gardening business based in Troy, MI. No lawn mowing, irrigation or tree trimming here! We are seeking gardeners, landscapers and horticultural technicians for the 2023 season.
We are a small, dynamic gardening business looking for 2-3 motivated and passionate individuals to join our team. As a growing company, we are looking for people who are eager to learn, flexible, and able to adapt to changing seasons and hours.
This is a 20-30 hour a week job depending on weather, and pays $17-23+, depending on skills and experience. Previous horticultural or outdoor work experience is preferred, and a willingness to learn is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Install landscaping for residential and commercial clients.
- Conduct regular garden maintenance tasks such as weeding, pruning, planting and watering; spreading mulch, compost and topsoil; lifting, stacking, and other gardening or landscaping duties as assigned.
- Assist in maintaining tools and loading and uploading supplies for the job.
- Think critically and problem solve while maintaining basic horticultural standards (for example, identifying weeds, mulching practices, etc.)
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients.
Requirements:
- Passion for gardening and horticulture
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work varying hours throughout the season
