Childrens Ministry Event and Worship Coordinator

This position will be the primary coordinator for all events and worship for Children’s Ministry. This will include planning, recruiting volunteers, on-going communication with Director and volunteers, and ensuring all details of the event are completed. In addition, this position will require a musical ability to coordinate the Youth Worship Band, and lead worship for events.


Events (i.e.: Beachside Summerfest, VBS, Jr. Camp, Family Retreat, Seasonal Events):

Good communication and collaboration with the Children’s Ministry director regarding vision and processes for events.
Schedule events for the year and coordinate with church staff logistical details for event.
Recruit and assign volunteers to positions with constant communication and updates to equip all involved with information needed.
Schedule training meetings and assist director with training.
Promote events through the church communication & graphics department.
Coordinate registration and children assignments in Planning Center On Line.
Utilize designated curriculum for: crafts and activities, assembly production (including music), curriculum for teachers.
Coordinate team of volunteers to prep crafts, props and decorations.
Take care of all administrative details of the event such as purchasing, event schedules, daily overviews, volunteer rosters production needs, hospitality, entertainment, rooms and areas of campus reservations, etc.

Assemble weekly rehearsals for the Calvary Youth Worship Band which consist of instrument training, vocal coaching, and music theory lessons.
Coordinate kid’s worship for Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and special events.
Lead worship for teacher meetings and special teacher events.

Teach weekly Children’s Ministry classes including preparing lessons and activities.

Education, Training, and Expertise

A healthy and growing relationship with Jesus, and passion about reaching young people for Christ.
High School Diploma, College education or equivalent experience is recommended.
High level of written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work toward goals as a team member, as well as an individual with strong organizational skills, and aptitude in project planning.
Strong creativity and musical ability and experience in training youth musically.

Technical Background:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Database and Project Management Software, Social Media, Communications Applications.
