Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Model Risk Governance Associate within the Firm’s Model Risk Management (MRM) group. The group’s primary mandate is to manage risk that arises from models used in the firm. Responsible for Model Governance: establish, maintain and enforce the Model Risk Management (MRM) framework and governance structure; develop firmwide requirements supporting the MRM framework; establish requirements specific to Model Inventory, to inventory models and obtain quarterly attestations across all divisions in the firm; coordinate ongoing model performance monitoring jointly with Model Validation and enforce change control procedures; responsible for model validation findings, including tracking and escalation of findings; and communicate and coordinate with Compliance to train key stakeholders on Model Control Policy and related requirements, including any significant changes. Perform ongoing monitoring of model inventory: maintain model inventory data integrity by resolving exceptions from automated checks on inventory changes such as additions, deactivations, classification changes and approval status; and create automated scripts and reports for model inventory ongoing monitoring. Manage model inventory: help process new model classifications, changes, deactivations; provide ad-hoc analysis on model inventory; liaise with MRM Technology team to support Model Inventory Management; and resolve inquiries from model stakeholders and owners on models inventory.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Computational Finance, Finance, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: programming skills, including object oriented languages and scripts (such as SQL, Access, or VBA); financial industry experience, including financial product knowledge; Model Risks, Market Risks, Credit Risks, or Liquidity Risks; and communicating project deliverables and presenting reports/findings across various seniority levels. Must have two (2) years of experience with model development or model validation. Must have one (1) year of experience communicating technical specifications to IT professionals and working with IT professionals to drive system implementation, testing, and releases.
