Berico is a family owned and operated local fuel, propane, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Lubricant company. The company operates out of 3 locations in the triad of NC, with it’s main location in Greensboro, NC. With over 115 employees, and multiple entities, we are seeking a finance and accounting coordinator.
The Accounting & Finance Coordinator will work under the company’s CFO. This position will work with the controller and accounts payable team to oversees and aid in the preparation monthly/annual financial statements (for multiple divisions/entities), budgets, tax reports & filings, accounts receivable reconciliations, purchase journals, manage external audits, and other bookkeeping responsibilities. Additionally, this position will assist in special projects such as accounting software updates, technology integration, loan documentation, and banking relationships. The company oversees the accounting for 7 entities.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee and help prepare on-time month-end closing processes and financial statements for multiple entities.
Provides supervision and leadership to the Accounting Department and manages various daily /monthly responsibilities including monthly tax reports and filings.
Manages preparation and documentation of all balance sheet reconciliations.
Cash and AR reconciliations prepared monthly including daily reconciliation of EFTs.
Prepares quarterly Bank Debt Covenant Calculations.
Prepares and reports necessary financial information and loan reports for the bank.
Coordinates and manages the annual external bookkeeping audits and periodic bank site audits.
Assists tax preparers in the completion of tax returns (S-Corp and LLCs).
Assists other personnel as needed with various accounting issues.
Helps maintain strong banking relationships.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting with work experience
Fuel, Propane, Service (Trade) experience is desired but not required.
Communication skills and ability to work with operational departments.
Experience with accounting software systems as well as ability to obtain information from other ERP systems.
Ability to prioritize work, work independently, and manage objectives without supervision.
Strong understanding of business operations and financial analysis.
Proficient in bookkeeping, debits/credits, intercompany transactions, journal entries, etc.
Highly organized, and detail-oriented, and have successfully demonstrated the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude during all internal and external customer interactions.
Ability to make recommendations and interact with all levels of management, customers, and vendors.
