The Aegis Shipboard Combat System Test Technician will serve as a member of the government led AEGIS Test Team (ATT) or AEGIS Modernization Team (AMT). Incumbent will specifically support shipboard installation and Combat System testing.The four primary US Navy ATT/AMT teams, located in Bath ME, Pascagoula, MS, San Diego CA, and Norfolk VA, collectively make up the AEGIS waterfront installation and test enterprise. As an enterprise, the four sites work closely together and share technical expertise and personnel resources across the AEGIS new construction, AEGIS Modernization, and Fleet In-Service locations as required to meet Navy and Fleet requirements.
Must be physically able to work aboard a US Navy ship, lift up to 50lbs, work in a loud environment and support short underway periods. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time in support of business and TDY travel to all domestic locations that Aegis ships might operate from including but are not limited to: Pearl Harbor, HI, Norfolk, VA, Everett, WA, Mayport, FL, San Diego, CA, Pascagoula MS.
The work is performed at our customer site in Bath, ME. Candidates for consideration must be a US citizen and have an Active Department of Defense secret clearance.
Ensure all resource requirements are in place to properly execute each test event
Assist in the coordination of sea trial testing, including training participants on respective test procedures and reviewing status of test results
Conduct shipboard testing according to government furnished test procedures
Inform the ATO/ATM of test related issues and requirements
Support other Aegis Shipboard Combat System Test Technician in coordinating to ensure successful completion of all combat system test events
Ensure that all test, training, and operational event reports are collected from their respective team leaders and test results are promptly recorded.
Experience conducting operations, maintenance, and/or test on Aegis Destroyers or Cruisers
Strongly prefer candidates with Navy experience (E-5, OS or similar)
Associate degree with 1+ years of experience, or 5+ years of experience without a degree
