Designs, develops, and maintains Microsoft SQL in development, testing, and production environments. Writes database code (stored procedures, scripts, triggers) for standalone use or for use by application programs. Oversees the stabilization and performance optimization of production databases. Functions as a Subject Matter Expert on database development.
Education & Experience
o Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field with programming and database systems coursework or equivalent database administration experience.
o 4+ years in a proficient SQL position(DBA, report developer, etc.)
o Experience with Data Warehouse data mapping and problem solving.
o Experience in gathering business requirements from cross functional teams.
o Experience analyzing data related to health care claims utilization.
o Experience with SQL Reporting Services
o Experience with Crystal Report development
o Experience with Tableau
o Experience with data analysis in the following areas:
o Health Care Costs
o Operations Management
o Provider Network Development
o Claims Processing Metrics
o Responsible for the full life cycle of all Microsoft SQL Business facing database applications.
o Reviews project requests and technical specifications with IT DBAs.
o Designs, recommends and promotes implementation of required database structures.
o Develops and applies procedures relating to database and application security.
o Identifies and advocates beneficial change opportunities.
o Acts as a technical resource for application and data users, data administrators and others.
o Serves as point of contact with technical peers for the resolution of infrastructure-related issues.
o Ensures compliance with TriWest HIPAA, privacy and government security policies.
o Provides technical support and guidance for applications programming in support of all aspects of database systems
o Creates databases, table spaces, tables, indexes, triggers, procedures, and all other objects.
o Defines the content and structure of the database (schema) and advises users on efficient techniques for extracting data.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
