Job summary
The AWS Sustainability Finance team is responsible for supporting Amazon's Climate Pledge goals to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2040, 100% Renewables by 2025, and Water sustainability programs. We’re looking for an experienced, high performing Finance Analyst to support carbon footprinting, sustainability month end close, and carbon adjusted NPVs.
In this role you will partner directly with the business, finance, accounting, sustainability and tech teams to support our carbon footprint, spending, and reporting. As a key member of the team, you will directly influence business decisions including capex investments, opex spend, pricing models, and long term strategy.
Key job responsibilities
Conduct financial analysis of AWS spending to map spend to carbon emissions
Support analysis on carbon and water initiatives and report on sustainability projects
Put together sustainability reporting, scorecards, KPIs, and financial metrics
Supporting key month end close activities, budgeting and other adhoc reports from financial tools such as TM1,
Assist in climate reporting needs by pulling and validating data from financial systems
Experience using financial systems and deep diving systems data and mapping spend (Cognos TM1, Oracle)
Prior experience in sustainability in corporate finance, accounting, or consulting
Comfortable handling large volumes of complex data and presenting findings to senior management
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills
Experience with financial climate reporting like TCFD, scope 3 GHG reporting based on economic input output model
Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment similar to a high tech start-up
Comfortable working with cross-functional teams in an unstructured environment
