As a Benefits and Wellness Analyst at Wellmark, you'll be a member of a team of professionals dedicated to delivering a continuously innovative mix of benefits; you'll have the opportunity to leverage your benefits expertise to cultivate cost-effective, value-added programs that drive positive results and be part of recommending and socializing these programs with executives. You’ll ensure that leadership and the workforce not only understand how these innovative programs benefit them, but also how they positively impact sustainability, drive down costs and increase productivity; you'll develop and deliver implementation plans that focus on employee education.

While you’ll always be developing fresh new ideas and delivering on these concepts, you'll also have the opportunity to maintain the benefits programs you’ve built over time, ensuring compliance, establishing baseline performance expectations, monitoring and analyzing the performance of the programs including reviewing regularly for opportunities to enhance effectiveness and offering data-driven recommendations regarding newly implemented and established plans.

Minimum Qualifications Required (all must be met to be considered)
Associate's degree (or equivalent work experience) and 4+ years of relevant work experience:

Minimum of 4 years of experience developing and delivering benefits solutions with an understanding of the self-insured environment; well-rounded benefits exposure preferred
Prior experience leading the implementation of new benefits plans including exposure to analyzing employee needs, benefits plan options and the roll-out of new plans; experience leading these efforts from inception to successful implementation is required; experience creating project plans or charters, managing to project timelines and resource allocation are preferred
Experience analyzing the performance of benefit plans (establishing baseline performance expectations, monitoring and assessing performance)
Effective communication skills and strong presentation skills; demonstrated ability to effectively deliver informative and engaging presentations
Functional experience with an HRIS (or related) system with a demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of relevant business processes and their impacts within the system; techno-functional experience (knowledge/understanding of system behaviors) preferred
Proficiency in MS Office suite, specifically advanced functions (advanced formulas, VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.) in Excel required
Strong problem solving, time management and prioritization skills
A minimal amount of travel is required
Job Accountabilities
a. Leverage analytical and problem solving skills to lead or collaborate with HR partners for the ongoing planning, design/redesign, implementation, delivery and evaluation of Wellmark employee benefit and wellness programs. Develop project plans and take lead in coordinating and delivering fully implemented programs from inception and conceptualization through to socialization and education efforts. Analyze internal process to identify opportunities for improvement in the administration of programs.

b. Complete analysis of benefit and wellness program data to review for compliance as well as utilization and cost trend data for program design recommendations and communications to key stakeholders.

c. Act as a subject matter expert on benefit and wellness programs through day to day administration, program communication and stakeholder issue resolution. Effectively interact with vendors to ensure effective day to day operation of programs.

d. Responsible for leading compliance review and ongoing processes including but not limited to required notices, annual testing, government filings and facilitating audits in accordance with state and federal laws and company practices.

e. Participate in the development and maintenance of employee communication, education and promotion to ensure benefit and wellness programs are accurately and effectively represented and well utilized. Actively participate in employee educational sessions by collaborating in the design, development and delivery of presentation/training materials.

f. Other duties as assigned.
