GHO Inc. is a Queens social services agency providing services to people with intellectual disabilities. We are seeking a Grant Writer / Project Development Specialist to oversee various projects.


  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Proficient in writing and compiling grant and business proposals.
  • Ensures milestones are met and final projects delivered on time.
  • Tracks project success metric during regularly scheduled project review meetings.
  • Manages day to day program activities of an assigned -project and scope. Research information related to program scope.
  • Controls costs and scope of projects while managing internal and external resources.
  • Works with internal and external parties to organize work projects.
  • Ensures successful implementation of all project activities through creation and management of project work plans that adhere to project standards.
  • Updates and maintain agency’s website.
  • Produces, gather and assists in producing a newsletter for the Agency.
  • Manages team members, including assigning tasks and responsibilities, providing guidance, and reviewing and finalizing all deliverables and reports.
  • Manages preparation and writing of grant applications.
  • Takes minutes for Committee meetings.
  • Works with outside vendors to solicit information/quotes.
  • Gathers, organize and edit reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Reports to the Executive Director.


  • B.A. degree in Social Services or Public Health required.
  • Ability to write and compile grant and business proposals.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects, i.e. the development and successful delivery of projects.
  • Proficient in writing and compiling grant and business proposals.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently, takes initiative and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • 3- 5 years relevant experience required.
  • Experience in the managed healthcare and/or healthcare field preferred.
