This position is r esponsible for consulting with clients about health reform, ERISA matters, employment, labor law, and Human Resources services. Serving as a resource to the entire employee benefits team in these matters, including leading training sessions, client seminars, writing articles and overseeing the delivery of fee based compliance services to clients.
Essential functions of the position include being a resource for the Employee Benefits Department by providing research of technical benefit related issues, reviewing plan documents and summary plan descriptions, and communicating legislative updates to clients; Creating, marketing and delivering compliance products and offerings.
This position will Team up with producers in all insurance lines to develop and cross-sell HR and Compliance services to meet annual revenue budget and assist client companies to develop and improve existing HR and Compliance practices, including policy and procedure manuals, recruitment processes, and educating on compliance with all local, state and federal laws in relation to employment practices. This is a supervisory role.
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS); or equivalent combination of education and training. Law Degree preferred.
Prefer 3 years of experience as an attorney, specializing in ERISA, healthcare, benefits or employment law. Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and periodicals.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees, and on a one-on-one basis.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction.
Ability to accurately perform advanced mathematical calculations.
Ability to understand fundamentals of healthcare financing and apply to work product.
Effective time management skills including the ability to prioritize and organize workload.
