Enlisted Soldiers are the ones in the Army that make things happen. From driving trucks to ordering necessary equipment to carrying out vehicle recovery to electronics repair to combat roles to medical positions. they are responsible for mastering the career specialization they chose from the over 150 different specializations available. The Enlisted Soldier is also expected to begin demonstrating the potential for leadership as those skills become increasingly necessary as they progress though their career, or if they later apply to be an officer.

Those who want to serve must first take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.


Military pay is complicated. The range indicated reflects starting pay for a private(E-1) to specialist(E-4) with less than two years experience, plus food allowance (BAS), plus housing allowance (BAH) in zip code 85282. There is typically a raise on 01JAN and well as raises biannually for experience and whenever a promotion is earned. Job training for a Soldier is 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training from 2 weeks to upwards of one year. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and in the field.

Required ASVAB Score: AFQT 31 (a percentile result), other line scores as required for chosen specialization.


Those interest in becoming an Active duty Soldier should be prepared to travel frequently, and can expect to relocate roughly every three years anywhere around the world. If you are not interested in moving that often or want to be stationed locally ask about our reserve programs.
