As a Director in Trust and Safety, you lead a team responsible for protecting Google and its users by fighting abuse and fraud for at least one Google product. You ensure trust and reputation not only for this product, but also for Google as a broader brand and company. You are a strategic leader who possesses the ability to work globally and cross-functionally with several internal stakeholders through effective relationship building, influence and communication. You demonstrate analytical thinking through data-driven decisions. You have the technical know-how, charisma and ability to work with your team to make a big impact.
You will lead the team responsible to advocate for Google-wide approaches for abuse fighting and policy enforcement in hard to solve and newly emerging areas. Your primary responsibility is to help us understand and find effective ways to respond to emerging threats and abuse problems. This involves identifying, analyzing, developing mitigation strategies and executing a response for newly emerging or fast changing abuse and content violation areas.
Your team is global and you will ensure their combined and individual success by leading through example, rolling up your sleeves when needed and instilling a pride of ownership for everyone in your organization. Your enthusiasm is infectious and people naturally follow the path you create.

The Trust and Safety team reduces risk and protects the experience of our users and business partners in more than 40 languages and across Google's expanding base of products. We work with a variety of teams from Engineering to Legal, Public Policy and Sales Engineering to set policies and combat fraud and abuse in a scalable way, often with an eye to finding industry-wide solutions. Trust and Safety team members are motivated to find innovative solutions, and use technical know-how, user insights and proactive communication to pursue the highest possible quality and safety standards for users across Google products.

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
15 years of experience working in the tech industry. 10 years of experience as a people manager.
Experience leading a multi-functional, global team addressing risk, fraud, abuse, and/or trust and safety issues.
Ability to travel internationally.
Advanced degree (Master's, PhD, MBA) in a related field (Analytical, Technical, Legal, Operations Management)
Experience in senior global management roles, handling multiple senior stakeholders and a proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Creative, out-of-the-box thinker, keen collaborator, process expert with the ability to land these new and emerging threats into their long-term business verticals after inception and setup.
Passionate about developing the team and providing them leadership for direct and dotted line teams alike as well as the ability to integrate and bring teams together
Excellent global leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
