Quality Engineer - DevonWay Software Enhancement Project Lead

Job Summary:
This position plays an essential role within the EPC Functions Quality team. As a member of the Quality team, the DevonWay Software Enhancement Project Lead is responsible for the definition, management and implementation of improvements to the DevonWay software application used to support Quality’s four core processes: People Based Quality, Lessons Learned, Continuous Improvement, and Closed Loop Corrective Action. This role is an excellent opportunity for an employee with experience in another function to gain key insights and exposure to delivery and continuous improvement of quality programs, processes and tools across the business.

Job Responsibilities:
Leads the definition, management and implementation of enhancements to the DevonWay software application for ensuring the software supports the requirements of the related work process, and to improve the usability of the software.
Develops change management plans for each of the software releases. Plans must consider the various stakeholders and diversity of user knowledge/experience across the Bechtel enterprise. Plans must include strategy and tactic for communicating changes to the user community.
Manges the transfer and implementation of software requirements to the software supplier, including verification testing.
Performs most assignments with minimal supervision and guidance as to the general requirements.
Receives operational supervision and technical direction from a Quality Manager.
Provides direction and oversight of external software supplier.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in engineering or related Engineering discipline.
Nine years of experience with Engineering concepts, applications and operations
Intermediate level knowledge of the DevonWay software application and it’s various modules.
Proficiency in the creation and execution of change management plans, and the use of change management tools.
Broad knowledge of the quality principles/tools and their application to engineering, environmental, Technical knowledge in the application of engineering, environmental science, procurement, construction, testing or decommissioning.
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred

Ability to work independently or as part of a team; high degree of accountability and ownership.
Proficiency in oral and written communication.
