Title:Shift Supervisor
FLSA Status:Full-Time Employee / Non-Exempt / Hourly
Reports to:General Manager
Purpose: To direct and supervise the basic operations of the store during times when GM or AGM is out or occupied.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assume responsibilities of the store when the GM and AGM are out of the store.
Ensure the highest possible customer service during shift.
Enforce and abide by all company policy.
Ensure that food and beverage quality is at its highest level by knowing and enforcing all preparation standards for all food and drinks.
Ensure the vibe of the store is fun, comfortable and appropriate for the current cliental.
Communicating with GM and AGM about employee situations such as discipline, positive recognition, employee morale, etc.
Setting an example for other employees through hard work and consistent management.
Ensuring overall store cleanliness.
Keeping other employees on task with verbal and physical cues.
Must be informed and up to date on all menu and special event information.
Performing additional responsibilities as requested by GM and AGM.
Other projects and duties as assigned.

Other Duties:
Serve as bar-back when needed.
To communicate any and all issues regarding the store to the GM or AGM. Shift Supervisors must be in constant communication about all aspects of the store.
Formulate and communicate ideas about increasing sales or decrease costs.
Occasionally, a Shift Supervisor will be required to help a GM and AGM train new employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees all employees on their shift including front line workers, bartenders and cooks.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required (unless otherwise noted):
High School Diploma or equivalency.
Minimum of one (1) year working for Illegal Pete's or related experience in the restaurant industry. This is subject to management discretion and a person working less can be promoted if so desired by the General Manager.
Must have responsible alcohol service training.
Must have TIPS training.
Working knowledge of kitchen sanitation, safety, and commercial food service equipment.
Knowledge of the facility's fire and evacuation plan as well as the Material Safety Data Sheets.
Must safely operate commercial equipment (i.e.: dishwasher, grill, blenders, meat slicer, steamers and steam jacketed kettles, mixers, choppers, pressurized hose for cleaning, commercial can openers, hot and cold holding tables and assorted hand tools).
Ability to follow all oral and written instructions.
Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents.
Ability to listen effectively and take direction.
Trained in all aspects of Illegal Pete's store policy.
Must attend and pass a food safety certification program.
Must have all pertinent training courses required by management.
Demonstrated exceptional team player who always acts with integrity.
Demonstrated ability to self-direct.
Ability to work well under the pressure of meeting tight deadlines in a timely manner.
Good communication, organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.

May include lifting up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Proper lifting techniques required.

Personal computer with MS Office Suite and Aloha Point Of Sale (POS) cash register systems.
Mouse and keyboard.
Facsimile (occasionally).
Multi-line telephone with voice mail.
Copy machine and printer.
Calculator.
Various pieces of hot and cold kitchen equipment.
