The Arizona State Hospital (ASH) is located on a 93 acre campus at 24th Street and Van Buren, in Phoenix, Arizona. ASH provides long-term inpatient psychiatric care to Arizonans with mental illnesses that are under court order for treatment. ASH protects the rights and privileges of each patient, including the patients’ rights to confidentiality and privacy. Treatment at ASH is considered “the highest and most restrictive” level of care in the state. Patients are admitted as a result of an inability to be treated in a community facility or due to their legal status. Hospital personnel provide state-of-the-art inpatient psychiatric care and are committed to treating patients and personnel with dignity and respect. Interdisciplinary care is delivered in collaboration with the patient, family, legal representatives and community providers with a focus on recovery and community reintegration.
This position provides comprehensive psychosexual evaluations to sexually violent persons for the Arizona Community Protection and Treatment Center. This position may also provide clinical services at the Arizona State Hospital (civil and/or forensic campuses) including: individual and group therapies.

Performing psychosexual evaluations, including records reviews, patient interviews, administering testing, and testifying in court
Providing clinical services to patients
Therapeutically manage the milieus
Interviewing, administering, and interpreting psychological tests
Preparing comprehensive reports to include diagnostic outcomes/impressions
Participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning meetings

Position Requirements include:
Requires a doctoral degree in psychology that includes education and training in clinical assessment treatment methods and work experience with sex offenders (preferred degrees include Ph.D., Psy D., or Ed.D.)
In addition to the education, must be licensed as a psychologist by the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners
Knowledge of psychosexual screening and assessment tools; up to date understanding of the professional standard of practice with regard to the evaluation and assessment of sexual offenders; psychopathology, personality development, sex offender treatments, professional ethics and standards; professional ethics and standards; neuropsychological functioning and assessment techniques; management and supervisory techniques
Skills in Provide psychological assessment of sex offender populations; provide verbal and written communication of psychological assessment findings; efficiently conduct psychological evaluations for sex offender populations; work effectively and consult with a multi-disciplinary team; provide timely documentation for assessments
The ideal candidate will have experience with the evaluation and treatment of sex offender populations
Preference will be given to candidates with prior Public Health experience
