Our Summer Camp Teachers are responsible for all aspects of care and education provided in the classroom and on field trips. The Summer Camp Teachers are the leaders of the classroom. Summer Camp Teachers lead and participate in a variety of camp activities such as games, field trips, sports, bowling, cooking, and many others. Our nationally recognized learning centers provide summer camp programs which offers each child a variety of educational and recreation activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the safety of all children in the group ranging in ages from 5-13 years old
  • Actively engaged with the children both at the center and away from the center
  • Follow lesson plans to facilitate the planned activities
  • Provide direction and support to fellow staff members
  • Develop opportunities to positively interact with the children and other summer camp team members
  • Ensure that classroom is compliant with all relevant state regulations and standards
  • Serve as a role model to the children in the group through appearance and actions
  • Maintain an environment (both indoors and outdoors) that is safe, clean, and inviting
  • Orchestrate opportunities to positively impact children’s self-esteem

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • The summer camp teacher qualifications must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience required
  • All summer camp teachers must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification required
  • A Bachelor’s or an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or closely related field preferred
  • 1+ years of experience working with children ages 5-13 preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as, strong organizational skills
  • Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours
  • Ability to work on their feet for long periods of time
  • Must be able to actively participate in the summer camp programs while ensuring that all health and safety regulations are met or exceeded
  • Must possess the ability to meet and maintain all policies and procedures at all times
  • Accompany children during off-site field trips
  • The ability to drive company vehicles highly desired
