This is a temporary part-time position.
Applicants shall have knowledge with regulations to include, but not limited to, DoDI 1000-13, ID Cards for Members of the Uniformed Services, their Dependents, and other eligible individuals; DTM 08-003, Next Generations Common Access Card Implementation Guidance; and AFI 36-3026, Identifications Cards for members of the uniformed services, their eligible Family members, and other eligible personnel. Responsible for accountability, control, verification and issuance of military identification (ID) cards and Common Access Cards (CAC) for active duty military, reserve and national guard members, military retirees, family members/dependents, and other eligible recipients. Also, responsible for the control and issue of identification tags and Geneva Convention cards to military members, deploying civilian employees, and other eligible recipients. Registers processes and maintains the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and the Real-Time Automated Identification System (RAPIDS). Performs all ID Card and CAC issuance related tasks to include researching and reviewing source documents, verifying eligibility, and discussing entitlements as defined in AFI 36-3026(I) and the RAPIDS Training Guide. Issues memorandums of authorization for use of Commissary and Post Exchange to eligible customers as well as Government ID cards (DA Form 1602) to eligible Government employees. Performs routine maintenance on computers and printers, i.e. change ribbons, add toner and developer, clean printers, etc. Prepares, revises and prints correspondence in the proper format under applicable regulations and guidelines.
Once the task is completed there is the possibility to have the following expanded opportunity: This person will need to be able to travel to ID Card Facility sites to cover for vacancies and fill in until a replacement can start working. This person may also travel as part of the Common Access Card Mobile Assistance Team (CACMAT) to various sites to conduct ID Card Facility assessments. Training will be given to ensure the person is trained prior to participation in the assessment visits but any previous knowledge would be very beneficial.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
Specific Skill Requirements and essential Job Functions:
Must be a US Citizen.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Must pass National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI) Investigation.
Must be able to obtain and maintain post access.
Be able to travel on a Part Time On Call basis to ID Card facilities for site assessments and/or to “cover down” as an ID Card Operator due to vacancies.
Have the ability to brief personnel up to the rank of General Officer.
Previously worked as a Verifying Official (VO) or Site Security Manager (SSM) for a minimum of two years is desired but not required.
