Operating entirely on revenue from game sales, rather than tax dollars, the Virginia Lottery generates approximately $1.6 million per day for Virginia's K-12 public schools. The Virginia Lottery is currently seeking an Associate Sales Representative for the Prince William, Gainesville and Warrenton area. The Associate Sales Representative (ASR) Program is a one-year career development program designed specifically for those who aspire to become sales leaders for the Virginia Lottery. During the first months of the program, ASRs will expand their sales and business acumen, increase their technical knowledge and develop executive presentation skills, as well as learn about Lottery products. ASRs will have full business ownership of a defined territory. The ASR will learn using a unique variety of on-the- job training techniques which includes a blend of instructor-led and self-paced training. After successfully completing the program, ASRs will have an opportunity to apply and be promoted into a Sales Representative role where they can continue to grow in a rewarding career. State vehicle will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications -Strong interpersonal skills -Customer service experience -Excellent technical skills -Willingness to travel within the training hub for the duration of the program -Must be willing to relocate upon completion of the program within the region/state or stay at the hub location, depending on the business need (we cannot confirm final placement destination at time of offer) -Must be comfortable working closely with a mentor in the beginning months of the program
Preferred Qualifications Sales experience is preferred but not required Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, I.T., Computer Science, or Finance Degree preferred A 4-year degree or comparable field experience preferred. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Special Requirements The selected candidate must be able to pass a background investigation, and possess a valid Driver's License.
