Quality Assurance Technician
Quality Assurance Technician MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES (include, but not limited to):
Follow all Company rules, policies, procedures and requirements especially for: safety, quality, delivery and productivity/cost.
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
Use micrometers, calipers, and depth micrometers.
Familiarity with SPC concepts and applications.
Perform calibrations and input the findings/results into the calibration software database.
Knowledge of GD&T to be demonstrated upon receipt of training.
Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification
Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system and safety audits. Investigating customer complaints and providing feedback to the operators.
Assist the production team in collecting and analyzing data for measurement systems analysis, capability studies, design of experiments, gauge R&R, etc.
Ability to develop work instructions and understanding of control plans.
Perform internal audits for compliance to ISO 9001.
Ensure production area gauges and measuring devices are working correctly.
Monitor production non-conformances, and provide samples for root cause analysis and corrective action.
Support quality inspectors with inspection procedures and techniques.
Identify and handle non-conforming products.
Conduct production area quality audits and communicate quality issues and out of specifications conditions to appropriate personnel.
Assist production leads in training team members to perform various inspections on the production floor.
Ensure 5-S is adhered to properly.
Identify visual defects and facilitate disposition on inspected materials.
Maintain calibration activities for the site.
Use tools, equipment and technology, including hand or power tools, manufacturing/operations equipment and computerized or automated systems.
Maintain work area(s) in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
Perform other duties, activities and responsibilities as instructed.
2-4 years of experience working in manufacturing environment
Previous experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment – preferably with ag/heavy equipment.
Previous quality control experience in a manufacturing environment – preferably with fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly processes.
Experience with MS Office applications such as Access, Excel, and Word.
Familiar with PPAP, drawings, calibration, flowcharts, work instructions, control plans, gauge R&R, GD&T and capability studies.
Experience with proper use of quality gauges – Micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, height gauges, indicators, etc.
