Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems Sector is seeking anStaffMechanical Engineer - Space Propulsionto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
Strong experience in liquid rocket engine design and development, fluid componentsand in spacecraft propulsion systems.
Strong analytical skills in combustion, aerodynamics, fluid mechanics and thermo-mechanical design with ability to scope or bound combustion and fluid mechanics problems as well as oversee manufacturing operations and hot fire testing.
Proven background in flight hardware design, development and test practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to be the focal point interface with team members including internal and external customers as well as suppliers.
Support/lead engine/propulsion system development
Interface with program customers and suppliers
Oversee testing campaigns
Participate in issue resolution
Mayrequire working on multiple projects as needed.
Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and14 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment; OR Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and12 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment
Experience with spacecraft compressible fluid-thermal systems
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and/oran SCI Clearance
Active In-Scope DoD Secret Security Clearance and/or Active SCI Clearance
Experience with propulsion systems.
Experience with earned value management.
Experience with propulsion fluid components.
Experience as a team lead.
Experience supporting bipropellant fluid propulsion systems.
Experience with hardware procurement/supply chain operations.
