A day in the life of the VP, Global Logistics:
You will lead an integrated, global Logistics management function that directs, coordinates and controls distribution, transportation, warehousing, inventory, global trade, customs and logistics policies for Hasbro product from point of manufacture through to delivery at our customers’ facilities. This includes responsibility for developing and ensuring the overall achievement of Global Logistics' strategic business goals, in support of Hasbro's overall strategic business plan.
Ensure the company’s total strength and volumes are leveraged across all markets, you'll secure the best possible rates, pricing and contracts for the corporation. You'll make logistics decisions which will drive the best result for Hasbro, as opposed to a speciﬁc country or region.
You will recommend and implement actions that impact warehouse locations, facility leases, long term agreements, operating systems and reporting, and drive implementation of best practices and eﬃciencies worldwide. Use common practices where appropriate.
You will ensure Hasbro’s Global Trade Compliance including maintaining our eﬀorts with our CTPAT certiﬁcation.
You will have total ﬁnancial management responsibility for 10 core warehouses (both owned and 3rd party operations), support and oversight of 20 3PL global warehouses, and logistics administration expenses in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The balance you strike between strong technical skills and leadership, including the ability to mentor and develop your team, will be key to your success.
Operations Management - Drive plans that ensure adequate shipping and warehousing capacity is available at competitive rates; lead teams responsible for execution of customer order processing, processing and shipping through global warehouses and delivery to customer. Develop and execute logistics strategy to address Emerging Markets and E-commerce initiatives (D2C, B2B, etc.). Establish global metrics and utilize to benchmark and find opportunities, resulting in best in class practices.
Planning - Develop short and long term plans to ensure Logistics resources and practices, at all locations, are consistent with company’s strategic goals and growth plans. Anticipate changes in business climate and ensure solutions are in place to meet or exceed them.
Financials - Preparation and management of all ﬁnancials, capital and other corporate expenses related to global logistics, forecasting, negotiations for freight, warehousing and other relevant services. Execution of successful monthly/quarterly targets. You are accountable for the management of the global ocean freight contracts and allocations as well as the surface and regional freight contracts.
People/Process Leadership - Hire, coach and develop logistics management team at various locations, building on talent and ensuring appropriate succession plans. Analyze current methods, and collaboratively improve or implement new processes, workﬂows, and technology solutions that maximize eﬃciency. Ensure individual and team goals are achieved and that key performance metrics for each functional area are monitored and improved. Build relationships with key partners, and business leaders ensuring open lines of communication and maintain ongoing dialog regarding priorities and direction. Develop and leverage key external relationships (vendors, government, etc.) for the beneﬁt of the company.
Special Projects/Logistics Systems - Participate in projects as role requires (Hasbro Leadership/Emerging Markets, Steering committees for D2C/B2B, WTW, etc.); and oversee IT systems’ applicability to Logistics functions, seeking increased eﬃciency and consistency wherever possible.
What you'll bring:
BS/B.A. degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or related concentration; advanced studies or degree (M.S or MBA) preferred.
15+ years progressive logistics management experience in a consumer goods environment with global reach. Breadth of experience should include management/ leadership roles of multiple sites (or divisions) and countries, with focus in freight, warehousing, inventory and systems management.
