SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Traffic Analyst leads daily operations associated with domestic shipment of products. This position interacts with customers and contracted third party logistics partners to ensure on-time performance, while maintaining appropriate cost structure. Analyzes Transportation Management System to recommend changes in Logistics network. Assists in maintaining of carrier performance standards and recommends addition or elimination of carriers based on economic and performance data. Interfaces with Business Development and Sales to formulate freight pricing and freight matrices for new product opportunities.

Ensures daily communication between carriers, plant, and customers to work through delivery issues. Focus is 98%+ on-time delivery for all shipments.

Works closely with transportation carriers to increase routing guide compliance and develop metrics to allow for ease of evaluation. Analyzes routing guide data and provides monthly measurable reports and statistics.

Reduces the use of brokerage services through conversion to asset based carriers.

Works with Carriers to increase the volume of continuous move activity and develops tracking system for generated savings.

Performs detailed analysis by location, carrier, and mode selection to outline network inefficiencies and cost opportunities.

Provides the analysis for the development and implementation of new product costing.

Works with Supply Chain Manager and production scheduler to manage and schedule outside warehouse replenishment shipments.

Reviews freight bills for accuracy.

Maintains approved carrier list.

Develops and enforces transportation policies and procedures.

Oversees process of investigation and response to customer or shipper complaints related to transportation issues.

Audits daily shipment logs and analyzes compliance to policies and procedures.

Utilizes logic and reasoning to identify strength and weaknesses of alternative solutions to achieve transportation cost savings.

Uses analytical tools to optimize transportation and distribution operations to add value to the bottom line.

Develops records management system.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years experience in a logistics management role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range: USD $65,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 /Yr.
