Help conduct the smooth operation of a fast-paced--and friendly--wealth management office. Work as a team member of an Ameriprise independent advisor franchisee. This is not a sales position.

This role assists the financial advisor in managing and organizing office work flow, provides client relationship support through interacting directly with clients, performs other practice management tasks relating to client service as needed. The person in this position may grow to be responsible for financial analysis work among other functions.

Over time, the person in this position will grow to be a Practice manager, responsible for the entire client support and back office.

The person with the right skills and inclination may grow into the Financial Advisor role. For such a candidate, at the appropriate time in the future, the practice will support the acquisition of Insurance, Series 7, 66, and CFP designations.

Requirements:

College degree is a must - preferred in Finance or Math. Strong oral and written English skills are a must. Candidate must be detail oriented, task and calendar driven, as the key role initially involves timely task management to client service deadlines. Sharp Math skills are necessary. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office - including Excel and Word is needed. Since work involves interacting with High Net Worth families, the candidate should have strong self-confidence and professional demeanor.

Typical Responsibilities (initially):

  • Schedule Advisor appointments with existing clients
  • Client Meeting Preparation - Document Package, Fill/Check meeting checklist items
  • Review and interpret the client's financial statements
  • Examine client data for accuracy and completeness, enter data into various financial analysis software
  • Prepare preliminary financial planning recommendations
  • Business processing: Interacting with clients to assure appropriate forms are filled correctly and business tasks are carried through to completion
  • Manage and resolve client service items
  • Review work methods and procedures for possible quality improvements and efficiencies and implement them when appropriate
  • Maintain online website for Advisor's practice
  • Maintain processes for client records retention and filing

As the candidate grows in experience, the role is expected to move to that of a Practice Manager.

Base salary will depend on skills and experience. May range about $38,000- $50,000/year plus benefits.

Full time. Situated on The Alameda close to downtown San Jose.
