POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Lead Glazier - Production & Scheduling Coordinator

Reports To: Owner/Manager FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: In this position you will work with Project Manager, Shop Foreman and Field Foreman to direct, facilitate and coordinate tasks, workflows and schedules as required to meet customer requirements and Company workmanship and performance standards.

KEY or ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Become familiar with all elements of our scope of work for each project by studying Product Data Submittals, Installation Shop Drawings, Architectural Drawings and Specifications.
  • Travel to job sites to ascertain project status, take field measurements and confirm window opening details and site conditions.
  • Collaborate with Field Foreman, General Contractor and other trades to coordinate installation details and sequencing.
  • Communicate with Skaug Brothers Project Manager and Shop Foreman to initiate office and fab shop workflows.
  • Visit site to conduct pre-installation review
  • Integrate the schedules of multiple jobs and schedule work crews as required for optimum deployment.
  • Assist Field Foreman with layout, installation & problem solving.
  • Ensure that all field tasks are being performed in a safe manner.
  • Perform quality control inspections and productivity reviews.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company’s policies and applicable laws. See below.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

Secondary functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review Daily Reports from each Field Foreman.
  • Review and approve Daily Time Sheets from Field Foreman and Glaziers.
  • Create look-ahead schedules and punch lists.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires a minimum of 6 years of commercial glazing experience. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of fabrication and installation of storefront, curtainwall, sloped glazing, manual and automatic entrance doors and hardware, insulated and monolithic glass, glass railing, flashing and covers.
  • Must be able to read and sketch Architectural Drawings and Details.
  • Must have good math skills using fractions, decimals and geometry.
  • Must have above average craftsman/problem solving skills necessary for addressing job site constructability issues and to meet high company standards of workmanship.
