Description & Requirements
Role / Title
This is a Research and Development (R&D) Packaging technical role leading and execution projects within the Meals Foundation and Coffee Business Unit. The candidate will be leading/executing packaging technical projects to meet business initiatives focused growth- brand maintenance and quality improvement. This includes designing and executing tests- analyzing data- drawing conclusions- documenting- communicating results- and commercializing products. Communication and teamwork skills are essential in this role- which operates in a dynamic and cross-functional environment. The candidate must also have a technical background and be able to apply prior learning or scientific principles to new situations. This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments/ tasks concurrently with moderate levels of supervisor guidance. Exhibiting a collaborative mindset and applying innovative solutions are a must.
Key Components of the role
Work with cross functional teams to execute projects across the Business Unit
Translate research findings into meaningful business opportunities and communicate to cross-functional teams
Execute packaging testing- qualification and commercialization while working closely with cross-functional team members in laboratory and production environments
Adapt and apply scientific principles to new situations/products
Manage multiple assignments/R&D projects concurrently
Specification creation and updating- with attention to detail
BS/MS in Packaging- Chemical Engineering- Mechanical Engineering or related field
2-4 years of experience in Packaging Development and commercialization (which can include internships)
Basic understanding of key subject matter in areas such as packaging materials- pkg equipment/materials interaction- and new industry advancements
Basic understanding of the interrelationship of packaging- product- and process
Basic understanding of packaging laboratory test methods
Excellent communication- influencing- and problem solving skills
Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently
Basic understanding of statistics
Willingness to travel 30%
