Job Summary

Performs a variety of cross-functional duties including intravenous (IV) catheter insertions, specimen collection, computer entry, and patient greeting and escort in a patient-focused department.

Minimum Qualifications


High school graduation or equivalent.

3 years related experience.

CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification by the Maryland Board of Nursing. CPR certification required. Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Venipuncture competency. Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Attends mandatory training sessions, staff meetings and town meetings and completes all mandatory education requirements on time.
Conducts data entry.
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Documentation of patient care is legible, accurate, appropriate and timely.
Ensures completion of unit-based duties and documentation in the tech duty log.
Focuses on patient flow and delivers care in a safe and efficient manner.
Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Performs technical job competencies.
Takes appropriate precautions to deliver safe patient care.
