API Product Manager
Partners are a key channel for growing Paypal’s two-sided network of sellers and buyers. Join the team developing end-to-end payment solutions targeted at rapidly growing online platforms in segments such marketplaces, shopping carts and crowdfunding sites. We are building and delivering capabilities that enable platforms owners and their participants to seamlessly onboard, process payments and expand globally with PayPal.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager with API development experience, who is passionate about building platforms that flexibly drive and ensure exceptional experiences for Paypal’s ecoysytem of Consumers, Merchants, Developers and Partners. You will own, drive and create payment related APIs to enable our partners to rapidly build, iterate and refine payment experiences via web, mobile web and native interfaces.
You are customer-centric, continuously demonstrate strategic & analytical abilities, and are laser focused on executing at scale. In this role, you will partner with diverse cross-functional teams to lead, execute, monitor, and deliver results for partners, sellers and developers. You must have the ability to succeed in a matrix environment, where success is dependent on your ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners in a positive, productive, and transparent way.
Define the vision and strategy for flexibly delivering payment services to meet the needs of platforms in diverse segments
Translate the vision into a roadmap, author product requirements and lead an agile team to build and refine the payment APIs, meeting milestone dates, driving decisions and escalating appropriately
Build relationships with the wide array of teams who own elements of the vision to share execution and create disciplined accountability
Collaborate with regional teams to ensure that the product solution delivers against regional business objectives and partner needs
Work cross-organizationally with customer support, operations, legal, compliance, risk management, user experience, QA and other functional areas to ensure alignment with related go-to-market activities
Experience of building world class APIs, developer experience and documentation
5+ years’ experience with software or technology product management – 8+ years of related professional experience
Background in analytics, user focus groups and research to create product roadmap, make product decisions and iterate rapidly
Strong technical background to deep dive into API development along side engineering
Superior organizational skills, plus ability to thrive in a matrix environment where success depends on a high degree of cross-functional collaboration in multiple geographies
Strong attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Team player; ability to interface and build relations at all levels internally and externally
