General Summary/Purpose:
The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth seeks a part-time social media associate to assist in maintaining our award-winning social media presence. This position will develop, execute, and manage Facebook promotional campaigns and events, assist with social media analytics and reporting, and help to manage audience activity and conversations across our social channels and groups.

Assist in developing and managing engaging Facebook ad campaigns, working daily to improve ROI across campaigns.
Create and manage event promotions, and work to increase attendance at promoted events.
Ensure that advertising and promotional content is aligned with the center’s guidelines on brand and tone.
Create automated and on demand Facebook advertising metrics reports for stakeholders.
Manage Facebook group member requests and monitor user generated content and comments across platforms, escalating issues as needed.
Work collaboratively with Communications & Marketing colleagues and other CTY staff to meet the Center’s social advertising needs.
Stay abreast of developments in social media and social media advertising, particularly as these relate to Facebook.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
At least two years of related experience is required.

Preferred Requirements:
Demonstrated success in Facebook advertising and Facebook event promotion.
Facebook Blueprint certification strongly preferred.

Required Special Skills and Knowledge:
A proven track record of success in using Facebook advertising
Demonstrated expertise in social media event promotion, particularly via Facebook Events
Experience managing users and user content in Facebook groups
Comprehensive knowledge of social media and social media best practices, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
Ability to work independently, manage multiple workflows, consistently meet deadlines, and adhere to brand identity and editorial standards
Attention to detail

Physical Requirements for the Job:
Ability to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse pad and other office machinery.
The incumbent will be required to communicate regularly via telephone and face to face with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate and timely information in these settings.
Position also requires a degree of mobility common to working in an office environment; bending, kneeling or standing during events and presentations may be required.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
