Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for quality control and coordination support of all MEP and FP systems on all Juneau projects. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with all members of the project team and Project Executives.

Position Requirements:
Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering with HVAC focus, min 3 years Building HVAC design experience, and min 2-3 years of MEP trade experience on $10 million+ commercial construction projects

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the owner-architect interface and planning and installation for HVAC, controls, plumbing, process piping, and fire protection design/construction coordination (validated and non-validated systems)
Responsible for providing construction support for MEP systems, balancing, commissioning and validation certification of these systems, including the turnover.
Support project team in development of full commissioning plan and project schedule activities for all MEP systems installations, all test requirements, required inspections, factory start-up of major equipment, factory acceptance testing, project and vendor documentation requirements and integrated test plans demonstrating full system integration
Review all A/E specifications, drawings, etc. to ensure technical and code requirements for material, equipment and field activities are met
Build excellent relationships with owner, architect, consultants and trade.
Perform quality control and monitoring programs for Building Systems trades by witnessing testing and recording progress
Assist project staff in monitoring and progressing the project schedule
Support review of RFI’s for content and expediting responses from other team members
Verify progress payments of Building Systems Trade contractors when disputes arise or as needed
Understand M&E pricing and cost management. Support Preconstruction Department in systems pricing, VE, and lead engineering design meetings.
Create training materials and provide systems training to JCC staff as and when required
Support project team in developing deliverables for coordination and commissioning meetings
Review and ensure accuracy of all facets of project Submittals, BIM modeling and clash detection, Installations, systems start up, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance manuals, spare part inventory, deficiencies, Closeout, and warranty of work
Perform biweekly QC deficiency reporting with documentation for all projects
