The Accounting Assistant reports to the Property Accountant and will be responsible for performing a range of technical and clerical accounting tasks, to include reconciliations and verifying cash on hand, tax information and documenting company accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions. This position will also support Human Resources.

Ensures compliance with internal policies as well as state and federal laws, as applicable to finance and accounting practices.
Performs administrative duties by responding to requests and correspondence, scheduling meetings and appointments, processing incoming/outgoing mail; assists in the overall organization of accounting office operations.
Maintains accurate accounts receivables and accounts payables by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Performs duties related to the accounts receivable collection process.
Supports the People Support Manager in the timesheet record keeping process by reviewing, tracking and verifying staff hours to ensure hours are posted correctly.
Performs credit card and bank statement reconciliation and analysis.
Processes invoices from various hotel vendors.
Performs banking reconciliations and makes cash deposits.
Supports the Property Accountant in conducting period closes and preparation of financial reports.
Assists in financial analysis, which includes collecting, reviewing, collating, and summarizing data and various account information.
Assists in the preparation of financial statements, cash flow reports, forecasts and projections related to business activity, and billing summaries.
Assists with tax documentation, calculations and remittances.
Posts general ledger entries as needed.
Performs ad hoc and special projects as needed.
Offers up suggestions, make recommendations and implement necessary changes to meet and exceed departmental objectives and to enhance service and efficiency.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelors' degree or appropriate combination of education and work experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.
A minimum of 1 years' previous accounting experience.
Previous hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
Experience in working with Great Plains accounting system is desired.
High proficiency in Excel and all Microsoft Office programs.
Strong track record for management of confidential information with significant degree of discretion and independent judgment.
Capability for effective communication with all levels of staff and management, both verbally and in written formats.
Exceptional service orientation, with keen ability to focus and deliver on client needs. * Reliable and responsible character, with exceptional follow up and attention to detail.
Proactive approach, with exceptional initiative and problem solving abilities to ensure the highest levels of productivity and guest satisfaction.
Ability to multi-task and effectively manage numerous priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Schedule flexibility and ability to work extended and/or irregular hours to include nights and occasional weekends and holidays.
Must be able to occasionally move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance.
Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Must be able to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to move about premises frequently to perform required tasks and collaborate with fellow team members.
