Title: Partner / Managing Director in Charge of Business Development - Commercial Real Estate

Reports to: Founder & CEO, Matt Bertram

The Managing Director will join the executive team with wide ranging responsibilities including just about anything a tech startup might need. Must be scrappy. Core focus will initially entail sales and marketing of the Capital Slack platform nationally. As the platform grows the Managing Director will be charged with building and mentoring a world class commercial real estate marketing and sales team.

A successful candidate will show a track record of success in business development in the commercial real estate industry. Commercial mortgage banking background is preferred. Existing relationships with commercial real estate owners is a must. Relationships with commercial real estate lenders is a plus, but not a requirement.

Drive for results is a prerequisite. The candidate must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a fearlessness in pursuit of achieving the firm’s goals. We have no patience for doing things the way everyone else in the industry currently operates. The managing director must have a demonstrated track record of disruptive vision.

Capital Slack is both a commercial real estate firm and a tech company and a candidate must have a desire to work with our technologists to improve the technology in addition to core responsibilities in business development. Expectation is for the managing director to conceive, implement, and iterate upon new ideas to generate value for the firm.

Additional responsibilities for Managing Director - Commercial Real Estate may include:

  • Work with venture capital partners to raise capital
  • Strategic thought to expand the brand to new niche markets or other verticals
  • Build Capital Slack Brand through various media outlets possibly including Social Media, Podcasts, Video, White Papers, and more traditional media outlets
  • Build Personal Brand as Industry Thought Leader
  • Build strategic alliances

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications of the candidate. Candidate will have the opportunity to earn base salary + commission and profit sharing. There is a possibility of acquiring equity in the firm upon hire and/or earning an equity interest in the company with success in the role. Candidate should expect compensation to be highly dependent upon performance.

Our online platform automates the loan request process allowing any borrower to quickly and easily create a loan request and submit it to any or all of our lenders for free. Capital Slack is not a crowd funding platform or peer to peer lender. Capital Slack utilizes the existing infrastructure of the institutional commercial real estate lending market to save our clients money utilizing technological efficiencies to solicit attractive terms and get loans closed.
