With so much relying on complex systems, a skilled systems administrator can be the difference that makes a project successful. We’re looking for a systems administrator to help us sustain and enhance a state of the art ServiceNow Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system for the DoD. Under general supervision, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining virtual systems within an Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud environment in support of business requirements. In addition, you will perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, schedule installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures and monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
You will ensure server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions, ensure data and media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations, support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services, conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines and develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database of all supporting documentation.
You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. Experience as a System Administrator
Experience with AWS Cloud
Ability to interface with client while serving as technical lead
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
BA or BS degree
DoD 8570.01 IAT II Compliant Certification, including Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISM required
Nice If You Have:
Experience with ServiceNow and in an Enterprise production environment
Experience with administering ServiceNow
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) leveraging EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, and Cloud Formation services in an Enterprise production environment
Experience with Window Server Administration, Active Directory, LDAP, Single-Sign-on, Authentication, user and group policy objects and permission levels
Experience with UNIX or Linux Server Administration to include user permission levels, and SUDO virtualization, including VMware, and containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, or Open Shift
Experience with scripting languages, including PowerShell or Bash
Experience with implementing scripted Web services in ServiceNow, jQuery or Prototype libraries, Ruby, Java, SOAP, REST, and CMDB or asset integrations in ServiceNow
Experience with Cloud service providers (CSPs), including AWS
Knowledge of Web Application Servers, Load Balancers, Databases, Server Virtualization, and Data Visualization solution
Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
