About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Product Owner to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and managing the product vision for our high visibility project focused on optimizing our revenue cycle operation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure our products meet the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business stakeholders, particularly those focused on revenue cycle management, to understand their needs and translate them into clear product requirements aimed at streamlining and optimizing workflows.
- Monitors and adjusts team activities to ensure alignment with the overall strategy and program goals.
- Possess a deep understanding of EDI standards (e.g., HIPAA EDI X12) used in the healthcare environment.
- Work collaboratively with developers and analysts to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and product roadmaps using Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Possess a strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data governance best practices.
- Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of healthcare data, enabling faster claims processing and reduced denials.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting open communication and continuous improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in healthcare EDI, data management, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), exploring how they can further optimize revenue cycle operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product ownership or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of EDI standards used in healthcare (e.g., HIPAA EDI X12) – MUST HAVE
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance principles.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience with AI in a healthcare setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently.
- A "can-do" attitude and a willingness to learn new technologies.
