Position Summary:

Responsible for locating all relevant topographic features and culture on projects in advance of the recording crew, in order to facilitate the creation of Hazard and Access maps.

Position Responsibilities:

Locate and map all relevant topographic features on a project using current surveying and mapping hardware and software.

Validates that vibrators or drills can get to specified locations

Responsible for individual survey, mapping and HSE asset management and sometimes vehicles

Responsible for communication of productivity and problems to Survey Crew Manager or Assistant Survey Crew Manager

Must have knowledge of and adhere to all company safety practices and policies

Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience:

Experienced mappers preferred, but qualified trainee may receive on-site job training

Must be able to correctly operate high precision survey equipment and create a survey map

Must be conversant with the use of a computer for mapping using various mapping software packages

Driver’s License and clean driving record required

Strong commitment to company values

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Extensive walking of up to ten (10) miles per day or more, carrying GPS/GNSS mapping equipment requiring agility and flexibility of movement. Tasks are performed in an outdoor environment with widely varying temperatures and often adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time while frequently carrying equipment and accessories that may weigh up to 45 pounds. Jobs locations are on a temporary basis and change frequently.

Our Geomatics Department includes surveyors, mappers and GISP’s.
