Are you interested in working with some of Expedia Group’s most dynamic brands? We are seeking a well-rounded and pragmatic lawyer with experience advising on ecommerce, marketing, consumer law and regulatory issues. You will be the lead counsel for a portfolio of travel brands that includes Orbitz, Travelocity, Cheaptickets, Hotwire and CarRentals.com, and you will coordinate legal support for Wotif in Australia, and ebookers in the UK. You will join the Expedia Legal and Corporate Affairs team based in Seattle – a dynamic, challenging and fun environment where you can be creative, collaborative and do your best work as part of our highly respected legal team.
What you'll do:
Serve as lead counsel and strategic legal advisor to the portfolio brand leadership team.
Advise business clients at every level on a wide range of legal and business matters including advertising and marketing, ecommerce law, consumer law and regulatory issues.
Serve as close legal advisor to product teams, providing guidance on product initiatives and tests.
Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts in areas such as privacy, IP, tax and insurance to deliver comprehensive legal guidance to business clients.
Provide proactive legal education for business teams.
Who you are:
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence people at all levels of the organization.
You have a strong background in ecommerce, consumer law and/or marketing law.
You are good at balancing a wide range of matters with tight deadlines and competing priorities.
You have a proven record of establishing strong working relationships with business clients at all levels and within the legal department or law firm.
You have a J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
You have at least 7-10 years' experience with a top regional or national law firm or equivalent experience working in a fast-paced, in-house legal environment.
