Flagship at largest social media company is currently seeking Pastry Baker Intern.

Monday - Friday! 11:00am-7:30pm

You will be responsible for dessert and pastry production. You will be responsible to measure and mix ingredients and bake according to recipes/guidelines. Take direction from the Pastry Chef and/or Executive Pastry Chef. Handles & manipulates product from start to finish including plating. You will work every station on the shift including but not limited to the following tasks: breakfast pastries, Friday special, lunch desserts, caterings, production flow cleaning and sanitation, team work and communication.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares, bakes, cooks, and serves various pastries, cookies, and breads
  • Accommodates special needs of the guests by preparing nut free, gluten free and vegan varieties
  • Makes all types of desserts; sweet and savory breads including yeast and quick, cupcakes/cakes, pies, torts, flans, custards, granolas, cookies, pate a choux, cheesecakes, bars, and some vegan desserts
  • May write menus for an array of world cuisine
  • Responsible for food quality and production
  • Stock/Re-stock desserts for service
  • Uses carts to transport dry, wet, and finished products to and from freezer/refrigerator

Knowledge and Skills

  • Baking experience is essential
  • Excellent culinary skills
  • Experience with from scratch production of cookies, breads, bars, pie crusts etc.

Education and Work Experience

  • Culinary Degree (preferred but not required)
  • Culinary Student 0-1-year experience

Job Type: Temporary

Salary: $14.50 to $15.00 /hour
