Environmental and Infrastructure Group, LLC, specializes in demolition & dismantlement, investment recovery, environmental remediation, millwright, and emergency response cleaning, restoration and reconstruction services. Sectors in which EIG operates include bridge and heavy highway, power, oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, commercial, industrial, institutional and governmental. As a multi-disciplined contractor, EIG performs several different environmental and demolition related trade services. EIG provides solutions to their clients’ most important projects.

The Estimator is responsible for working both independently and collaboratively (with executive management and project teams) to estimate project costs for firm fixed-price bids, proposals and change orders. The Estimator’s job is to leverage field experience, industry knowledge and solid analytical skills to prepare accurate quantity take-offs. Fundamental to this role is the ability to make sound assumptions and identify gaps in construction documents.

Responsible for all aspects of Estimating process.
Conduct thorough analysis of drawings and specifications, ensuring required information is provided.
Perform detailed project cost estimate using estimating software such as HCSS.
Research selected products from a cost and constructability perspective.
Solicit sub-contractor pricing and bids for different trades in preparation of cost estimate.
Review progress and bid documents for constructability. Lead and participate in discussion regarding alternate detail and materials for specific areas or trades.
Provide and present value engineering options and costs.
Provide and present estimating productions and scheduling.
Coordinate administrative staff in sending documents to vendors.
Perform volumetric, linear, area quantity verification from various sources such as digital and printed plans.
Provide take-offs based on plans and specifications
Perform any other duties assigned.
3-5 years’ experience
Local knowledge of the demolition industry.
Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills
Highly proficient in selected software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project). HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software knowledge a plus.
Ability to make decisions, work independently and coordinate estimating colleagues.
Willingness and ability to think “outside of the box” on complex projects.
A strong work ethic is needed. Must be able to work independently without close supervision.
Ability to meet critical project deadline, willingness to coordinate and work as a Team Member.
College degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent years’ experience.
