Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
The temporary test proctor will have the following responsibilities.
Administer Pearson Vue, College Level Exam Program (CLEP), Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) Subject Standardized Tests (DSST), and other offered testing programs.
Be knowledgeable of the administration, test security, and irregularity procedures to ensure compliance with the Test Center Security Compliance Checklist documents applicable to the different testing sponsors/providers.
Monitor candidates. Be present in the testing room and actively observe all candidates during the entire testing session.
Maintain confidentiality of passwords for access to the CLEPi/DSST/PearsonVue systems.
Administer every examination according to testing guidelines.
Operate the test center on a nondiscriminatory basis.
Use secure check-in procedures. Check two forms of identification before admitting each candidate to the testing room.
Recheck students' IDs before providing their score reports.
Distribute applicable scratch paper/erasable notecard to every candidate, as applicable to the exam the candidate is taking.
Escort each candidate to the assigned testing workstation.
Ensure candidates do not have access to test materials before or after an examination.
Encourage candidates to follow the directions in the software.
Ensure candidates are logged-in and properly started on their specific exam.
Provide a safe area in which students can store their personal belongings.
Make sure candidates do not use books, dictionaries, notes or other unauthorized aids.
Academic Advisor Duties
Advise prospective students on Associate of Arts degree requirements.
Advise students on initial military tuition assistance (TA and MyCAA) enrollment and approval processes.
Advise students on which academic classes best meets their educational goals using Degree Works and course catalog information.
Advise students on the availability of CLEP and DSST tests.
Help students complete requests for CCAF transcripts.
Explain Accuplacer placement scores to students.
Enroll students in academic classes through the Banner computer system.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
All individuals conducting/proctoring CLEP/DSST/PearsonVue testing must be at least 21 years of age.
An undergraduate degree is preferred but not required for Test Center proctors.
Undergraduate program students are not allowed to serve as test proctors.
Must be able to pass the test proctor certification assessment for the applicable testing providers.
