Reports To: Manager, Financial Systems
Primary Functions: Assist in the maintenance of all accounting processing systems, related interfaces to subsidiary operation systems and interfaces with the credit unions share and loan system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the development, modification, maintenance and use of the primary accounting system (Ross ERP) and related accounting software systems (AP Automation, Purchase Card, Financial Report Writing, GL Reconciliation, etc.).
Work with department management and MIS personnel to identify and prioritize system enhancements to meet goals of the department.
Assist in the design, maintenance and updates of interfaces from other credit union systems to the accounting system.
Act as liaison with applicable software vendors, ensuring that all system enhancements are properly reviewed and installation and necessary user training is coordinated.
Assist in the development of user system training curriculum and that a training schedule for each type of user is in place.
Prepare and maintain application system documentation and manuals.
Assist in the installation and testing of new releases, upgrades and fixes.
Perform analytical analysis and act as a resource to other areas of the department.
Develop knowledge of current and emerging technologies and best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, computer science, business or a related area preferred.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Two years experience in a similar position or in accounting work flow and systems analysis. Alternatively, two year's experience in the accounting field having senior-level responsibilities in a client-server environment.
Experience/Skills: Must be well organized, have an analytical mind, be quick to learn and require minimal direct supervision. Must have demonstrated the ability to exercise good judgment and draw valid conclusions from data gathered. Must have good verbal and written communication skills, understanding of accounting and work flows in a multi-departmental and multi-company environment with specific experience in accounting controls involving multiple automated systems preferred.
Tenure: Assignment to the Financial Systems Analyst I category 10, Financial Systems Analyst II category 09 or Financial Systems Analyst III category 08 will be determined by the candidate's education or experience. Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate's certifications and/or performance.
