The Database Programmer Analyst Senior provides technical expertise and is responsible for adhering to and enforcing database standards and methodologies. This position is also responsible for thoroughness, accuracy, and solving complex problems related to the delivery of database solutions and integration that improve business capability and efficiency.
Minimum education and/or experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field and five (5) years of database development experience. An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:Knowledge of:
Complete software development lifecycle using different methodologies and frameworks (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, and SCRUM).
Database diagramming concepts, theory and practices.
Developing SSIS packages of high complexity (.NET) and scope while adhering to documented development standards.
Planning, organizational and analytical.
SSRS configuration, security, subscriptions and reporting building.
Analyzing databases with Microsoft SQL Management Studio.
Develop analysis reports and queries from structured and unstructured sources.
Create and develop test Transact SQL queries, stored procedures, functions and views, following best practices and standards for a N-Tier high availability environment.
Conduct data-driven experiments, to interpret data, and to create innovative data-based products and services.
Prioritize and problem-solve complex enterprise applications.
Lead database application development projects while communicating well both verbally and in writing.
Preferred education and/or experience:
Experience in a MS SQL Server database environment. Experience with SQL Server 2008-2016. Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Experience with using SSRS for reporting and BI. Experience with C# and current .NET Frameworks. Experience with N-tiered architecture. Experience with Visual Studio 2013/2015, TFS 2013/2015 and SharePoint. Experience using MS SQL Server, T-SQL, Business Intelligence, SQL Management Studio, SQL Reporting Services, SQL Integration Services and SQL Analysis Services.
Preferred training, certifications and/or other special requirements:
developing database applications end-to-end.

obtaining and transforming raw data into meaningful and useful information for business analysis purposes.
developing and implementing normalized databases in a relational design.

Essential Job Tasks
Designs, creates and deploys custom SQL Server database solutions.
Follows industry practices of analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance/production support of COTS and custom databases and applications.
Supports complex data integration through SSIS packages (C#).
Works with stakeholders to design and deploy SSRS reports using various data sources.
Supports web and application development through comprehensive data layer design.
Functions as backup for SQL Server and SSRS administrator as needed.
Interacts effectively and professionally (at all technical levels) in a team setting with co-workers, leadership, stakeholders and business staff.
Acquires knowledge and understanding of business practices and processes to the extent needed to improve business outcomes through innovative data solutions.
Completes special projects as assigned.
