(IST) designs, installs and services integrated electronic and physical security systems (access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, physical barriers, etc.) for government and commercial entities. Though based primarily in the mid-Atlantic region, our team members dispatch to locations throughout the nation and occasionally overseas. IST is searching for a Cleared Physical Security Systems Administrator located in Washington, DC with occasional duties at other customer sites in the National Capital Region.


This mid-level security systems engineering position will be supporting Access Control/Intrusion Detection/IP Video applications and infrastructure at large government site in the National Capital region. The position will support Software House CCURE ACS/IDS and Genetec Security Center IP Video systems and Windows/Cisco server/workstation/network infrastructure.


  • Accountable for supporting the following systems: Software House CCure 9000, Genetec Security Center, STOPware PassagePoint, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, Cisco L3 Switches, Nessus, McAfee
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Active Directory User management
  • Desktop support for badge office/security force/customer CCURE and Genetec workstations
  • Desktop and server maintenance/patching
  • Monitor and analyze security systems for potential vulnerabilities
  • DR Testing/Management
  • Vulnerability Scanning
  • McAfee ePO/client management
  • Manage Cisco switches (Configure VLANS and ports, update software, add/replace devices)
  • Manages the CCURE and Genetec applications, and works with the lead engineer to maintain and troubleshoot the infrastructure
  • Perform add/delete/modifications to security spaces in CCURE
  • Manage users, groups, clearances in CCURE
  • Perform add/delete/repair of video systems in Genetec Security Center
  • Support armed security force Central Alarm Station to insure timely and accurate alarm reporting and troubleshooting
  • Assist alarm technicians troubleshooting and installing devices and cameras
  • Manage COTS Visitor Management system, including server, workstations and peripherals
  • Occasional weekend/evening maintenance and on-call support
  • As needed, attend factory training on Software House security equipment, Genetec Security Center and other areas of knowledge


  • Bachelor’s degree (any field) and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in the system field, OR an associate/technician degree (any field) and five (5) years’ experience working in the system field, or the equivalent combination of specialized education and experience
  • Experienced in security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control) applications, preferably Software House CCURE 9000
  • Capable of reviewing and creating designs for access control, IDS and IP Video systems
  • Broad knowledge of computer functions and applications including hardware, peripherals, operating systems, and software (including standard office suites)
  • Must be a US citizen and possess a Top Secret security clearance and/or have the ability to obtain and maintain an SCI security clearance


  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Disposition suited for maintaining positive and cooperative customer relations
  • Familiarity with fiber optic video transmission systems
  • Memberships in security-related organizations such as the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), completion of security-related training courses, and training from factory or manufacturer representatives on motion detection, video, and related systems is preferred
