Primary Responsibilities:
As a 1099 Information Reporting Specialist, you will be involved in all aspects of the Form 1099 reporting process. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of 1099 reporting matters including:
The processing of large amounts of data related to quarterly and annual 1099 filings
The timely and accurate preparation of federal and state 1099-related returns
Assisting Tax leadership with acquisition onboarding and other related projects
Providing research support for the analysis of proposed and existing tax laws, regulations, and rulings
Provide compliance support to business partners regarding complex reporting scenarios
Assisting with tax audits and notices

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree

Experience prioritizing assignments and managing work load within statutory and internal deadlines in a fast-moving environment

Experience working with business partners from both within and outside of the Tax Department

Strong computer literacy including intermediate proficiency with MS Excel and MS Access

Preferred Qualifications:
Exhibit an understanding of federal and state 1099 information reporting matters, as well as possess experience managing multiple complex projects meeting critical deadlines

Experience working in the 1099 information reporting field with a large corporate tax department

Experience using pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise

Experience participating in and/or manage projects

Experience working independently while assuming full responsibility and ownership of processes

Taxport or equivalent 1099 compliance software experience

Experience resolving disputes with 1099 recipients, including occasional contact with those recipients
