Description

Support Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) team

Finance Lead for Syngenta Ventures:
Support CVC team in financial aspects throughout deal process (preliminary financial analysis, financial due diligence, deal structuring, valuation support)
Lead finance stream for first time investments, follow-on investments and divestments
Issue guidance on the accounting treatment of investments as well as impairment testing
Financial controlling of the Ventures portfolio, issuing the portfolio report and assessing valuations at key period ends.
Act as the CFO for Syngenta Ventures, providing constructive challenge to investee companies post investment and to the Ventures team on business cases pre-investment.
Lead in the finalization of the audited statutory accounts of the Singapore Ventures entity, including resolving any issues with the external auditor
Finance Lead for Syngenta’s partnership with Life Science Partners (LSP)

Review Fund’s monthly financial statements
Work closely with LSP’s CFO to ensure compliance with the Partnership Agreement as well as internal controls including critical assessment of the fund’s valuation
Participate in quarterly Fund Committee meetings
Support Head of CVC with ad-hoc financial analysis

Ventures Financial Controller

Provide support and financial control to the Head of Ventures. Support through the budgeting and LE processes to review and challenge proposals and prepare the storyline for SEC reviews.
Finance Support for the Head of Digital Agriculture

Lead the annual financial planning activities (Bud/rolling forecast) in line with Digital Strategy as per functional targets for the respective areas of responsibility and being collaboratively responsible to deliver the budget together with the business owners.
Manage and onboard business stakeholders on financial concepts and best practice ensuring commitments are taken into account on appropriate levels (e.g. accruals).
Member of Digital Agriculture leadership team providing effective communication and financial support to senior stakeholders
Collaborate within the G&A team, with strong “one finance” orientation.
Finance Support for the Head of Biologicals

Track and forecast global performance of Biologicals products:
MBR reports on sales performance
Preparation of latest outlook forecast as required

US based Biologicals cost centers:
Track actual performance and any latest outlook as required
Review and control cost center budget
Finance point of connection where support is required for the Head of Biologicals outside of the US
Support Head of Biologicals with ad-hoc financial analysis
Limited support/involvement in business cases (M&A, in licensing and other commercial agreements with third parties)
Other financial presentations/analysis as required

Qualifications

Masters degree in finance or accounting with a minimum 5 years qualifying experience
Experience operating independently in a complex, informal environment with previous commercial exposure
CFA preferred
