Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Academic Program Specialist – Communications Department (CMAT).
Primary Job Duties: Coordinates the daily operations of the CMAT Department and assists in the development and support of new programs and initiatives. Assists with program assessment, student recruitment, and transition into the major/minor.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or related field with a minimum of one year experience in administrative staff work or Associate’s degree in a related field and 3 years administrative staff work or High School diploma and 5 years of administrative staff work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be detail-oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem-solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with tact and discretion; to be flexible and successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously; work well under pressure; to work independently or in a team-oriented environment. General knowledge of and skill in the use of work processing, database, and spreadsheet software to produce documents and maintain information. Skill in performing basic mathematical computations. Ability to present statistical material in table, chart, or graph form; ability to learn and adapt to new software and technology. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to operate computers and other office equipment. Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate student workers.
Preferred Qualifications: Administrative experience in which program coordination in a directly related field was a primary responsibility; three years of work experience; and, PeopleSoft knowledge.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary range minimum is $35,728 annually, which is approximately $17.13 per hour. Salary is commensurate with experience.
