Your tasks and responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, Technology Development Req – Veg (Northern Indiana), are to:

Strategy and Planning
Develop, execute and continuously improves a strategic plan for territory, aligned with business unit objectives, increasing sales rep and dealer effectiveness, grows customer engagement, and ultimately increases market share and profitability;
Lead the planning of field-based applied research to inform the strategic development and application of products to meet growers' and supply chain customers' needs;
Use overall understanding of market potential, competition, key trends, research and emerging market forces to become an industry expert and develop strategies and plans that effectively grow market share and profitability;
Maximize on opportunities to position the value and performance of products to growers, dealers and other supply-chain customers through sales teams and dealers;
Field – Based Applied Research
Define and plans the appropriate trial based on the objective (product selection, FABS, recommendations);
Develop and follow sounds research protocols based on the selected to meet Bayer's data needs;
Manage relationships with third-party cooperators to ensure timely completion of research projects and integrity of data collected;
Manage the logistical details involved with field-based applied research to ensure timely completion of research projects and integrity of data collected;
Analyze collected data using appropriate and scientifically rigorous methods. Uses analysis to assist with production selection, to develop FABs, and to assist in developing recommendations;
Applied Product Knowledge
Leverage knowledge of the near-term product pipeline to inform and lead sales support, field-based applied research, and knowledge transfer efforts;
Knowledge Transfer
Organize and deliver training to sales representatives, dealers, MD counterparts, and marketing through field days and other forums;
Create and use tools from collected and analyzed data to develop the performance story, support the transfer of product and agronomic knowledge, and support the sales process;
Operational Excellence
Demonstrate networking, teamwork, and relationship building to effectively and efficiently accomplish work tasks;
Use productivity tools to increase professional performance;
Demonstrate agility to stay up-to-date with technology needed to do job effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Plant Sciences or Agribusiness (agronomy, plant pathology, weed sciences or closely-related discipline) or 5+ years of experience in the agricultural industry (product development, agricultural consulting, agricultural production, research);
Agronomic knowledge of vegetable crop production;
Highly analytical with the ability to convert data into practical knowledge and solutions for growers;
Demonstration of strong customer focus and sales orientation;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-based environment;
Self-motivate and assertive with a results orientation;
Willingness to travel extensively in the territory and occasional national travel.
