Under general direction of the Associate Director of Technology and Support, identify, develop and manage outreach opportunities, to the university and supplier community, in order to further the Supply Chain mission. Develop and manage outreach events, on behalf of Supply Chain and our business partners, that showcase Supply Chain services, preferred campus business partners, and new or existing technology supported by Supply Chain. Represent Supply Chain at community events, promoting a collaborative relationship with local and small businesses. Coordinate with Supply Chain management and the FOA Communications team in developing messaging and communication in furtherance of the Supply Chain mission.

Physical Demands:
Work and keyboard on a personal computer for extended periods of time.

Travel to meetings on an as-needed basis.

Lift files or supplies weighing up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment:
Work occasional overtime, holidays and weekends as needed. Restricted vacation during peak periods, usually during fiscal close period, June - July.

Employee is personally responsible for following and adhering to University safety policies and procedures.

Work in a dynamic, distracting, knowledge sharing environment.

Work in areas with high traffic and frequent interruptions.

Maintain strict confidentiality of files and data to protect privacy and rights of individuals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a major in a business, marketing, communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two or more years of experience plus 2 years related experience in outreach, program development, strategic marketing, event management, or public relations.

Proven ability to develop and implement public affairs, marketing and communications plans that achieve specific, measurable results.

Experience delivering presentations in a one-on-one, small or large group format, which are well organized, clear and understandable, informative, and effectual.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively either in one-on-one or group settings; by using appropriate nomenclature and terminology and by being perceptive and taking into consideration the diversity in social, cultural, professional, and educational backgrounds.

Knowledge of Change Management and/or Project Management principles and strategies.

Analytical skills to weigh information and options and make sound decisions affecting the department, division and other functional units of the university.

Ability to set priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of essential functions, deadlines and shifts in workload.

Demonstrated skill in the use of computers including, but not limited to, the following software: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); internet browsers; accounting and procurement systems.

Skill in working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, and departmental and campus personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:
Three or more years of experience in outreach and program development, demonstrating development of strategic partnerships and community connections.

Experience managing a commercial web and social media presence targeted toward both customers and business partners.

Knowledge of Supply Chain Management services and processes; their benefits and purpose in the UC Davis environment.

Knowledge of campus standards for publications and websites, including appropriate use of trademarked and copyrighted materials.
