DEPARTMENT: CH - Pathology Laboratory.
Collects blood and other specimens from neonates, infants, pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Successfully performs capillary punctures, using sound judgment to make decisions about acceptability of sample type, volume and integrity. Follow written guidelines for identifying patients and labeling specimens. Use computer to efficiently organize specimen collection by priority. Acts as receptionist for the laboratory as needed. Function as a courier for the laboratory.
Certificate preferred; High School Diploma required; Job related course work after high school, up to 12 months. Special training in specific areas of trade such as word processing, general repair, bookkeeping, etc..: May include basic phlebotomy certification process. Professional Certification Preferred.
