What you’ll be doing...
The QA Analyst defines and applies Quality Assurance (QA) methodology to application development including testing, identifying defects and documenting programs. This position is knowledgeable in commonly used Quality Assurance (QA) concepts, practices, and procedures within data and programming fields and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Testing involves a thorough understanding of customer equipment and billing transactional data and being able to execute SQL to extract and validate test data through the key stages of data processing. Testers will develop and execute SQL as needed to perform validations. Testers will need to recognize and question data discrepancies that could represent defects.
Developing and documenting test plans, test cases, SQL scripts and automation scripts, preparing data as required; primarily responsible for large volume of data validations.
Developing, documenting, and executing regression, functional, and integration tests across Data Warehouse applications of moderate to high complexity.
Documenting and tracking software failures using Jira and/or similar tools.
Producing metrics to continuously improve the process of building software and the associated artifacts.
Working with quality assurance team lead and/or manager to plan and schedule test cycles.
Supporting ongoing work to automate and document QA regression testing.
Providing effective communication (technical and non-technical) with geographically distributed team members.
Driving process improvements and tool development to support assigned projects.
Supporting software systems, as well as managing multiple testing environments.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
Three or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer/Information Science or related field.
Four or more years of testing experience using software development life cycle -SDLC (primarily around Oracle development technologies and tool-sets) with major focus on functional testing, testing, regression testing, and integration testing.
Two or more years of experience with SQL or PL/SQL, Oracle/Teradata.
One or more years of testing experience working with a 'Data Warehousing' environment (focused on Operational Data Stores, Data Warehouse and Data Marts – Oracle/Teradata).
Testing experience with various ETL tools (combination of Oracle Warehouse Builder, IBM IBM DataStage, Informatica, or any other ETL tool).
Experience using defect tracking tools and quality/test management tools such as Jira.
Ability to create and maintain quality assurance artifacts. Artifacts include test cases, test plans, testing strategies, and certification reports.
Ability to read and understand system technical design documents.
Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
Working knowledge of testing Business Intelligence (BI, OLAP, ROLAP) tools.
Testing experience in financial services or in a processing environment.
Working knowledge of cloud environment (AWS) and big data technologies.
