Job Description
A Load Forecasting Analyst I is a member of a high performing, pragmatic and well-rounded team that works cross departmentally throughout the organization. The team also supports Member-cooperative analytics, including energy efficiency initiatives, electrification, and renewable generation. This position supports day-to-day data collection, programming, program maintenance, reporting, and complex problem solving.

Essential Functions

Maintains professional correspondence via email, phone and in person with Seminole’s Member-Cooperatives and other organizations.
Provides analytical support with customer centric focus for Seminole’s Members.
Delivers well-supported analysis and influences business decisions with data driven information.
Active listener with the ability to ask questions and follow-up in order to effectively address business needs.
Flexible and able to adapt to on-going change.
Generates and verifies professional reports.
Meets deadlines consistently and works well under pressure.
Develops and maintains SAS databases and programs.
Explores and experiments with data to discover insights and patterns; Selects, prepares and analyzes data for specific use cases.
Ability to work independently without close supervision, but also work collectively with others.
Prepares routine internal/external reports; meets reoccurring deadlines.
Responds to frequent data and information requests in a timely manner.
Provides analytical support for the Energy Efficiency Working Group.
Attends forums and training courses; stay informed on economy, weather/climate, technology and industry related news.
Stays informed on RUS and FL PSC load forecast and energy efficiency requirements and regulations.
Other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.
Working Conditions

General office working conditions. Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment. Must be able to follow established protective measures including, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. A graduate degree or course work in graduate level economics, statistics, operations research, or data science is desirable. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in SAS programming is preferred. Experience in programming languages such as Python, R, Matlab or SQL is desirable. Experience in working with weather and weather models is desirable.
